We have returned from our stay in Tulsa at the luxurious Ashton Hotel. We have come home to find that we are among the extremely blessed. We have a gas water heater and gas stove, so we are able to shower, cook, and take care of other necessities.
We are without power, though, and that has become more trying as the days get warmer. I've heard estimated times of recovery of power as varied as last night (not so much) to October 16. I'm hoping for sooner rather than later. Fortunately we received the use of a generator and A/C unit last night so we were able to catch some television in cooler conditions.
Kids are still out of school. The district is in the process of deciding whether they will return for classes on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. As we drive around town where streets are closed off because of power lines in the road, I wonder how that can really happen. How will buses run? How will everyone without power dress their kids and prepare lunches in the dark, or by candlelight? (Ugh. Just the thought gives me a headache.)
The bottom line is that we are grateful to have a home to come home to at the end of the day. We are coping the best we can, and are grateful for opportunities to help those who need it.

We're so glad you are safe. I keep calling Shelli for updates. Sounds like the ward has it's struggles, but overall very blessed that it wasn't worse. Do you all need me to Fedex some things to ya? (ha ha) Good luck with the school thing.
So happy to hear you have a house to come home to. The Tulsa vacation pics look fun too. Wish we were there with you! (under different circumstances of course) :)
