We didn't see the Houston Astros last night like some people did.
Instead, we went and froze our hineys off (it was only 64 degrees plus a breeze) at Thomas's game last night.
Each year he starts out kind of rusty, but once the season really gets going, his skills seem to return. So, it usually takes a few games for him to get his swing back. He usually starts out batting at the bottom of the order, but moves up throughout the season.
His warm up time has been significantly shorter this season. We began the season on opening day, which, while fun, was not a spectacular game for my boy. The last two games were also not showcases for his hitting abilities.
Then, he played last night. He was still batting at the bottom of the order and struck out swinging the first time he was up. His second turn was BEAUTIFUL!!!
Here's the hit which, while fuzzy, emphasizes the action and energy of this perfect swing. :-)
He made it to first. (This hit, by the way, started off a seven run rally. What would they have done without him?)
He stole second.
Made it to third.
And here he is scoring the first run of that inning. Woo hoo!!!

64 degrees here right now is shorts and short sleeve shirt weather! We just received 3 inches of wet slushy snow last night!!! I think the wind chill is going to be in the teens today.
I can't wait for summer.
