Here is more information from lds.org - always a reliable site. What an amazing prophet he was. He was able to accomplish so much in his time as the Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The number of temples increased dramatically. If nothing else had been done, that would be remarkably significant for such an "old" man. I will definitely miss him and his positive outlook on life.
We received at least 4 phone calls last night to inform us of the news. Chad expressed surprise that one of the calls wasn't Pres. Monson calling each of the Bishops personally - all 29,000 of them - to tell them the news.
One thing that did surprise me, though, was the timing of the calls. Pres. Hinckley passed at appx. 7pm MST (8pm in Houston). My phone started ringing just an hour and a half later. Thank goodness for those who are more in touch with what's going on in SLC.

It was 30 minutes when my friend Aaron told us, and when we were chatting with him, Dad called to let us know saying Cory had just called him.
He will definitely be missed.
